My mother was seen by dr hancher in the UNC/REX ER. She was barely examined. Was asked to follow up with her Physician. Was made to feel as the issue was dismissive. Was given the number to call the OBGYN which was on call at the time. OBGYN should have been called from the ER

Dr. Hancher treated me like a drug seeker when I had 10/10 abdominal pain that had me sobbing and doubling over. He tried discharging me home with lidocaine patches and he told me I needed to advocate for my own care. He also tested me for drugs and alcohol. I begged him to help me and eventually he actually looked at my CT scan report and it showed severe stenosis of my celiac artery. Did not care for his bedside manner. He said to me in these exact words: “you don’t LOOK sick, and your vitals are fine, so I don’t think we’ll find anything, but I’ll order a CT scan”….. CT scan was abnormal and I ended up being admitted for 3 days. I’m still unsure of how I was supposed to “LOOK SICK”
