Went in to follow up on a knee injury I had had a month earlier. After examination and describing my symptoms, he insisted that I had a “baker’s cyst” and “probably a torn meniscus” As my symptoms were a “classic presentation“. Then he said “so I’m going to give you an injection” and I said “I would like some diagnostic imaging first, Ultrasound, CT, MRI? Would really like to know the extent and specifics of my injury and any damage before I get an injection. If I need an injection after the MRI then understandable.” He proc... read more
I am very pleased with the care that I received through Dr. Sunkin and Patrick Shepherd NP. I was able to be seen quickly, and have my surgery scheduled. They were very thorough and informative, and responded to questions, concerns and refill requests promptly. I am now nearly 4 months post surgery. I am very happy with the results of my surgery thus far, and the care in which they provided me.
If you have a mental health diagnosis of any kind, I strongly suggest another orthopedic. This man stigmatized me before he even entered the room. I was shocked after reading his wonderful reviews. He never spoke with me before or saw me, but approached me with curt & aggressive manner. He cut me off during an explanation of my throbbing right hip pain, did not listen to a word I said, contradicted me, ordered me what to do, & handled my legs in a rough manner. Dr. Sunkin did my knee replacement several years ago and it went off without a hitch. He was straight forward and told me exactly what to expect. Now these years later I need my other knee done and will call Dr. Sunkin.
