As a physical therapist for 9 years, I knew exactly what I was looking for when I needed physical therapy after fracturing my ankle. Joint Ventures provides 1:1 care for 40 minutes with a licensed physical therapist. This is essential in recovery, as it allows you to truly team up with the skilled practitioner in the development of your individualized plan of care. This is a rare find in the Greater Boston area as many other clinics overbook and utilize aids, assistants, and students in the delivery of patient care. Despite having multiple locations in the Boston area, Joint Ventures has a feeling of a "mom and pop shop." The front desk staff is the best that I have encountered in the health industry. This is saying a lot since my injury became complex and involved multiple doctors (PCP and 6 specialists) and services. Natalia and Andrew are great at what they do. They are extremely helpful in understanding your insurance benefits and assisting in scheduling. Their compassion and commitment to excellence in customer service makes the practice feel as if it is a concierge practice. My interactions with them have supplemented my physical therapy care by improving my morale and spirit during times that I desperately needed it. My physical therapist, Garrett Labberton, has been incredible in assisting me in my recovery. He is very cerebral in his treatment approach, and has clearly identified what areas need to be addressed and how they will be addressed to accomplish my individual goals. His approach is holistic and very thorough. His critical thinking skills have been on display, as my case has not been the easiest of cases. Following my ankle fracture and prior to my physical therapy course, I had developed a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in my calf) and a subsequent pulmonary embolism (blood clot in my lung). This had led to even further complications that interfered with my physical therapy, including pleurisy and oxygen desaturation. Garrett's ability to modify the treatment plan to accommodate new symptoms while maximizing treatment effect was superb. On one occasion, he was able to identify warning signs prior to starting a treatment session that triggered him to send me to the emergency room for treatment of pleurisy. Furthermore, his ability to comfort and instill optimism in times when you are vulnerable and frustrated by medical complications is excellent. His great support goes beyond his physical therapy skills, which has been essential to my positive outcomes so far. I highly recommend Joint Ventures Physical Therapy and Fitness at the Prudential Center. As a very active person prior to my injury, I am very excited to continue to make progress toward my return to my previous lifestyle. JV has been instrumental in improving me not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. I am very grateful for the care I have received!
