I was referred to the Joint and Vascular Institute for knee pain and swelling I had for three years as a result of a fall. I had previously gone through physical therapy, cortisone injections & an arthroscopic procedure which brought no relief or change. After months of physical therapy, cortisone shots, knee draining and gel injections the pain returned. The earliest treatment was either knee replacement at the end of November or another round of gel injections at the end of December. I was searching for alternative treatments covered by Medicare when GAE at the Joint and Vascular Institute popped up. I honestly cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Os and his entire team for what the Transarterial Musculoskeletal Embolization (TAME) procedure has already done for me.
