Robert is a great barber; highly recommend! Just to make other people aware, the sign outside at 89 Halsey says Unisex Salon, not Johnson’s Barber Shop.
Avoid this place if you have dreads / locs. Find a place with a clientele and portfolio that showcased their work with people with locs. The barber Rob will "yes", "I got you", "reassure" you with his amicable nature but I assure you that it is a gamble not worth the risk. I'm speaking on personal experience. If you're natural in any other way sure you can try your luck but the hubris to not being willing to acknowledge things you cant do or the mistakes you have made I would say be weary of this barber in general.
