JCI took over from Richmond Alarm here as well. They are almost impossible to work with. We have a service contract and were just charged almost $ 1800 to replace one smoke detector. 800 number says we must contact the local office. The number listed is an answering service that sends us back to the 800.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Unfortunately, we contracted with them to do an install/upgrade of our alarm.com system. It took them 4 months to complete. They kept sending out tech after tech, each group (implementation and tech support) blaming each other. It was a clown show. In the end, I spent over 8K with their company and I got the worse implementation experience I have ever had with a company. PLEASE look at all the negative reviews. I have no problems with the local techs, but the corporate sales/admin is absolutely atrocious. But they will not care about this review because they do not care about quality.
Ever since Richmond Alarm sold to Johnson Controls, we have had one problem after another. Alarm signals a call and it takes 10 minutes for someone at the monitoring center to answer. This morning, they called while we were all at work to leave a vm saying there was a "undefined Signal" and have a great day. Then, they dispatched a cop which creates a fine. Our of dozens of vendor/service providers at our 40 year old company, this is our worst vendor.
