My 95 year old mother-in-law fell and was taken to Suburban Hospital The surgeon fixed her two broken legs and both knees and she is getting the best care ever. The doctors are calling us to give us updates daily and they do not make us feel like we are rushed to get off the phone. We appreciate the excellent care she is getting at Suburban Hospital!
The most racist ER EVER. ATTITUDES and neglect. Patient relations dont care. I went with a head injury and it was like none of the triage nurses cared if I was dying. One of the nurses attacked me for being upset. They had me wait over 1 hr before I was seen.

Hi, Ms. Holmes, I am distressed to read your message and would like to know more about your experience. Would you be willing to connect with us about your experience? Please direct message the best way to reach you. Thank you.
My mother got COVID after being treated here. It’s been a horrific experience, the doctors will not provide updates. They are not overcrowded like so many other hospitals filling up again, they just can’t be bothered.. Maybe Suburban used to be good, it is no longer. Weigh your options carefully before entering this facility.
Twice in the past month I have been hospitalized at Howard General due to my severe asthma. BOTH admissions I had the best doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, techs and the list goes on!! Their bedside manner and rapport with their patients is outstanding and definitely helped my recovery. I trust these people with my lungs and my life!!
I am deeply and profoundly grateful to everyone at Suburban Hospital. My wife brought me to the Suburban ER because I was in the worst pain of my entire life (worse than when I had herniated three lumbar discs, worse than my dislocated spinal injury, worse than when I had a head-on motorcycle collision with a delivery truck that broke most of my ribs). Upon arrival, my left arm had been numb with zero muscle control for five days. The previous day, a different ER had treated me terribly, and when I begged for an MRI, they in... read more
Relatively Attentive nurses and doctors. I suspect I got the same at Shady Grove, though.
The ER is just terrible!! I would not recommend this place to anybody. Nice nurses but extremely slow. Emergency Room should be changed to Waiting room. Spent 7 hrs here just to be released back to a specialist. The dr didn’t even come in to explain the situation. Gave the nurse paperwork and expected the nurse to give me the complicated analysis. She had to use google to look up the terminology. Not to her fault, the conditions were way over her head and I truly believe over the ER drs head too, hence the lack of explanatio... read more

Hi, Mr. Barno, I'm so sorry to hear about your frustration and I hope you are feeling better. I would like to connect you with our patient relations team. If that is okay, please DM the best way to contact you. Thank you.
I brought my daughter in to the ER on 8/13 for abdominal pain. I gave the nurse and doctor both her history with constipation and my concerns that it could either be from that or something more serious. She hadn’t had anything to eat/drink in 24 hours because she didn’t have an appetite. The dr refused to give her an IV. Said it wasn’t necessary. They ordered an ultrasound which showed she wasn’t constipated at all. The doctor said it was just gas, but I knew she wouldn’t be in as much pain as she was from has pains. They tr... read more
