I drive a '74 Bug. Hard to find a good air-cooled mechanic anymore. John's diagnostics are spot on. His estimates have been right in the zone, which is pretty tough to do on a 44 year old car with 310K. We have gladly referred our VW friends to him and they all have been pleased. I would have expected that much air-cooled knowledge would have come from a much older mechanic. My bug runs like a dream, now.
