Worked with a guy named Juan, I couldn’t tell you if he was licensed or not. But we had a plan to replace my fence and had an estimate ready. At 9pm on a Sunday night, the night before the job, he started asking for 50% upfront before any work was done. Now normally I can see 10%-25% down payment, but with a contract wrote out. I told him I could pay for work done for that day and have all the materials paid for and brought to my house. But he insisted that was “How he did business”. Don’t waste your time like I did.
