My 5yo needed hernia surgery and my pediatrician told me no one in the area did that, closest place was STL (I live in Benton). I called and called and could NOT get through and some miracle, I came across Dr. John Van Savage and SO thankful I did!! He was super friendly, got us in quick, surgery was quick, recovery was a breeze! Excellent surgeon and friendly staff!!
I’m writing this review as a WARNING- a warning to any parent that has a child referred to this office. Dr. Van Savage said my child needed surgery to fix 2 things at once. Mother’s intuition told me to get a 2nd opinion and instead we went to see a pediatric urologist at Vanderbilt. This doctor said “don’t let anyone do surgery, there’s no need” for 1 issue and prescribed a cream for the other. As a young mom I was told my young boy was born with something and would need surgery. I was told Dr Jon Van Savage was the closest urology around and I would have to drive a few hours away to the other one so of course without research or anything we chose the closest one. Hind sight is 20/20 I would definitely drive 3 hours to a different Dr. he’s so awkward and not good at answering a concerned mother’s questions. I could say more but I won’t! Just do not recommend!b
Charges for services not done. Doesn't ever remember anything, rude bedside manner, and falsifying documents. Please choose somewhere else!
