Dr Stagias diagnosed my husband with severe Ulcertive Colitis several years ago and proceeded to be one of the most inept doctors in the field. My husband Suffered a severe infection and 40lb weight loss under his watch. He was willing to prescribe him a biologic without doing any of the due diligence the doctors at Mass General did. My husband had to suffer unnecessarily for months because Dr Stagias office was too busy being a colonoscopy mill to treat symptomatic patients. I have been a patient of Dr Stagias for years. He makes you feel comfortable and always explains procedures in detail. I have ongoing GI issues and would not see anyone else. He also caught my family member’s stomach cancer so early he recovered within 10 months. Procedures are done quickly with no side effects. The only comment on the negative side, office reception could use some education on customer service. Highly recommend this MD.

I wrote a few weeks back about doctors and how things have changed.. Here is another example. Went to doctor Stagias GI doctor last year and he was overly busy and I wanted to get a second opinion so I did. Then my insurance changed so I was forced to go to ST. Vincents now that my insurance is changed back I called his office for an appointment only to get a call back saying I was not welcome back because I left. When is it wrong to get a 2nd opinion now a days or to change insurance? Did

Colonoscopy and upper GI by Dr Stagias was painless and on time. Highly recommend!

Apparently he was great to my family before and right after my grandfather's surgery. But on the weekend after surgery, he had a possible serious side effect from surgery, and Dr. Stagias could not be reached. No-one on call for him. I find this unacceptable for a surgeon, and poor patient care.
