What a find! My Mom and I stayed in a carriage house room on a mother-daughter trip and had an incredible stay. Beautiful and clean rooms, attentive staff, and delightful common spaces. We took full advantage of daily breakfast and afternoon tea each day. Fantastic location close to everything. Cannot recommend enough!
We stayed here for three nights and it was fantastic. The house is exceptionally maintained and the service is outstanding. We enjoyed the daily breakfast and afternoon tea. There are so many options in Charleston, but I would definitely recommend the John Rutledge House.
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm Southern welcome by John at the front desk—his hospitality set the tone for a truly memorable visit. The inn exudes quintessential Charleston charm, with elegant touches and a sense of history in every corner. The location couldn’t be better—tucked away on a quieter street, yet just a short walk from all the sights, restaurants and shops. I especially loved starting each day with breakfast served in the beautiful courtyard. 5 stars.
