While this was a quick appointment, I did not feel rushed at all. Dr. Pettinato was great at explaining how to treat my migraines and how I should be tracking them to determine a cause. I should also add that my dad is a patient, with a rare subtype of migraines. Dr. Pettinato was able to get him proper treatment. And my brother, who lives in Boston is coming down to see him because no provider in Boston has availability.
He dropped me as a patient because I missed one appointment, but however he did try multiple medications until the right one was found for my headaches! Now my headaches have been upgraded to migraines!
This guy literally looked at an MRI of my moms brain and said it looked normal for her age - a few weeks later she had a SERIES of strokes and they told her she had such bad Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy they were afraid to put her on blood thinners…this should have been seen by any neurologist who knows what they are doing. Shameful, bordering on malpractice.
My 79 year old mother began having a lot of headaches which was unusual for her. Her PCP scheduled an MRI and in an effort to understand the results she booked an appointment with Dr. Pettinato. His first words to her were “why are you here?” (Apparently this is how he starts off most visits) He then proceeded to tell her that the imaging was normal for someone her age and he had no concerns.
