We visited John Mays Jewelry to have the gems in a ring we won at auction evaluated. The older gentleman, who we assumed was the owner, informed us that we would need to pay $150 for an appraisal just to verify if the diamond and sapphire were genuine. He seemed dismissive and even smirked when we mentioned the auction price, suggesting it was unlikely the gems were real. When in to get a watch battery and they were too busy stocking shelves to do a 3 minute job. Leave it and come back tomorrow as I am too busy stocking the inventory that just can in. Imagine that!
