I am very glad we selected Dr. Halphen as my mom’s PCP. He has a rock solid knowledge base and excellent bedside manner. I believe he said he had been a pharmacist or something to that effect, which gives me confidence that he will properly monitor mom’s medications. He was very thorough during the initial visit where we established care. He was very respectful. I noticed that unlike many other providers, he spoke directly to her, not just to me. The wait was long (12Hrs) in the ER but that was understandable given it is a county hospital and one of the best trauma centers in Texas. Once I got care it was one of the best hospitals I've ever been to. They are very thorough, I came in for decaying matter in my toe and I was focused on LBJ to try and save it. I'm a diabetic and I feared my toe may have needed to be amputated but they were able to save it plus re evaluate my prescriptions for high blood pressure.
