Dr. Welander and his team are the best! Dr. Welander explained all of my options, then he listened to my concerns. I wanted to proceed with the most conservative, least invasive procedure possible. I was concerned about having armpit lymph nodes taken out and the possibility of adverse effects. He explained that he would go one node at a time, and send it to the lab during the surgery, to make sure that he did not take out anything unnecessarily. Great care and outstanding compassion for his patients. I was so grateful for finding an amazing doctor locally. I would strongly recommend Dr. Welander and his team based on my personal breast cancer care. I also watched him interact with others that had critical roles in my treatment I knew I had made the right decision..
My routine mammogram showed a suspicious area in one breast. After an ultrasound and biopsy. I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was referred to Dr Welander by my primary physician. He was Professional, Kind and had my best interest at heart. Our first discussion was possibly a lumpectomy while maintaining my breast integrity. I am so thankful that we have such a good surgeon here in Pella. Dr Welander took care of me through breast cancer. He always took his time and made sure all my questions were answered. I would highly recommend him. Having Kim alongside him was a blessing as well. You know she cares.
