This doctor was suggested to me by a friend who works at the hospital in Monroe. The visit was helpful....but I could have done without the patronizing demeanor. The office staff was exceptional, friendly, and helpful. But I doubt I will follow up with him. The visit as a whole left me feeling quite unsettled when I later reflected on his inability to deliver a message to me without using such an arrogant tone. I felt a total lack of respect when it came to my knowledge about my own body.
My appointment was a few weeks ago, I am still trying to process the whole thing. I think maybe he was just too "retro" for me! He actually pulled the "the doctor is always right" attitude with me. The whole experience was so awkward and uncomfortable I am still trying to make sense of it. He actually seemed offended that I might have an opinion of my own!
I accompanied my sister as her advocate when she had an appointment with this doctor. He entered the room and made a very strange comment about her body. Then when she tried to answer his questions, he interrupted her like what she had to say was not important. It made me very upset to witness such unprofessional behavior. Chastised me for getting a second opinion. I wanted to see another doctor just to reaffirm the diagnosis from dr. Patz. He seemed very offended and then belittled me. I am still shaken up it was just very unprofessional.
Disappointed because I was feeling very hopeful after reading so many positive reviews of this doctor. I felt like my appt was just a waste of my time. His profile indicated he treated ppl with my diagnosis but when I asked him at my appt he actually had very little experience and didn't seem very interested in learning more.
Dr Patz takes his time with his patients. I've seen more doctors than I'd ever be able to keep track of, and he is by far the most compassionate, kind hearted, knowledgeable and intelligent physicians in his field. He understands addiction medicine and wants to be sure his patients are clear on what is happening in their body and brain. I'm so grateful I am under his care.
Dr. Patz is one of the most understanding and compassionate doctors we have ever been to see. He always has the patients best interest in mind. He is an expert in his field and you could do no better any where else.
John D Patz, DO has a 2.2 star rating with 10 reviews.
