On his website (over 30 pages) he claims to work mostly with adolescents. As an adult I rarely felt that he understood what I was going through. When I asked “what’s our plan” his response was “I don’t know yours but mine is to challenge your thinking.” Definitely one sided but I thought I would give it a chance. My husband & I went to see him after being married only 2-3 years, so this was 15 years ago. He was recommended by my therapist , who later admitted it probably wasn't the best choice. I think he was relatively new to couples counseling, & at that time it was limited to 8-10 weeks. He told us at every session we were a lovely couple, which was not reassuring because there was so much going on underneath. Dr. Jochem has been working with me off and on for the past years, he is compassionate, honest and trustworthy. He has always made me feel at ease and comfortable to tell him what I have been dealing with. He is non- judge mental and supportive! I would recommend him to anyone trying to improve their mental well being.
After a few sessions I realized Dr John Jochem was using my weakness to keep me coming back He was never genuinely trying to help just to get my money I find it highly repulsive that educated people enjoy to manipulate the very people they are supposed to assist in getting better I'm still very confused by how I was used
Dr. Jochem is patient, perceptive and a wonderful listener who has helped my child work through a difficult situation. I've seen a lot of therapists for him and Dr. Jochem really was the very best. I cannot reccomend him highly enough.
