I visited Dr. Costa after I was diagnosed with Afib; he offered the standard treatment of beta blockers and blood thinners, which I refused. After a year of persistent Afib, I visited him again to inquire about other treatments that I had researched. He was somewhat condescending and repeated the options that he had previously offered. I declined all; he then offered to refer me to a electrophysiologist. I researched that fellow, decided that I could do better, and found Dr. Nuiton Koide. Dr. Costa is highly experienced in his profession; more importantly, he LISTENS to his patients and offers insightful recommendations to guide them on their respective journeys to health. He does not 'talk at you'; he actively engages in discussion so that he & his patient can work as a team to arrive at the best solution FOR THE PATIENT. His open-mindedness allows for exploration of treatment protocols that may be outside of 'mainstream medicine', but are also of value.
Dr Costa is a great doctor. He’s very informative. Always takes time to throughly answer my questions, both from a medical viewpoint and a layman’s viewpoint. He makes sure I understand my condition. I recommend him to my friends.
Excellent physican. Explains things thoroughly, informative and compassionate.
I have been seeing Dr. Costa for around five years for routine cardio checkup. Dr. Costa is highly competent, attentive and responsive. My cardio is generally good with very normal blood pressure/ bpm. My only "conditions" are lowish bpm between 46-50 and pronounced sinus bradicardia. CT scan at leading hospital in Seoul, S Korea indicated some calcification in two arteries which we are following closely. Previous doctor (unnamed) at Mt. Carmel refused to look at the CT scan results.
