I will soon turn 70, have been eating at Joe Tess many years, even before the remodel, can't say I have a favorite because I love it all, even after being away in the military for years my first visit back home would be here, moved back to Omaha for a few years, and every Friday night I'd come here, moved to Des Moines, but would still drive to Omaha to buy a hugh order of fish to take back to my family, they love it as much as me. Don't go, it's the worst fish you will ever eat. The carp taste like mud and it is not fully cooked and this is not the first time. I've be a customer for 30+ and it has gone down hill.
I have been going to this place for years and have never had any carp that even comes close to tasting like mud. It is excellent as is the chicken and catfish. Great place to eat.
My dad used to rave about this restaurant to me, ive been hearing wonderful things about Joe Tess for 24 years, i've only eaten there once (but I dont live in omaha) and the food was great, people and atmosphere very friendly. Long Live Joe Tess's!
