My son was a client of Ms. Baker's for several years. He absolutely loved going to speech therapy. She willingly developed a treatment program to meet his needs rather than adapt her program to him. We saw drastic improvements in his intelligibility through the specific oral motor activities she initiated as well as other articulation exercises. I first met Jo Lynn Baker (formerly Drury) about 15 years ago. I was referred to her by my doctor, who told me if he had children who needed help with speech issues, she was the only person he would send them to for therapy. I understood why when I opened the door to her office, which offered a very relaxed and child-friendly environment, with books everywhere.
