I had a great experience at Jim’s Auto Service. The shop is very clean and well-organized, and the staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Disappointing that what we requested was not done, according to them it was miscommunication. Very expensive. We paid for something we did not need done. Brought it to their attention and all I received was I'm sorry, no compensation on discounting the additional work needed that he pointed out, or how to make it right as a customer. Not going back, it was very disappointing for a facility that I have used for years.

I will assume since the shop is slow in general, they feel it is ok to gouge you on diagnostics, even when it is not performed. My friend who is a senior citizen took his car in with a starter related issue. They quoted $900 to replace a $175 (retail cost) starter. When we decided to take it home and do it ourselves due to the high price, they charged a $175 diagnostic fee, which was really just a pay us for doing next to nothing, as they did not test the starter.
