Specialties Jim's Transmission Service was started in 1958 by Robert James (Jim) Currier Sr. in a small garage on Cuyahoga Falls Ave. in Akron. He moved the shop in 1962 into the building pictured to the left, which was located on North Main St. next to the current Alexander Body Shop in the North Hill area of Akron. Jim Jr. is the current owner of the shop. Two of Jim's sons, Max and Dan, currently also work at the shop, continuing the tradition of a family owned and operated business. Did a great job repairing my Ford Ranger transmission. The truck didn't want to go forward in drive, back in reverse, and was past the point of just adding some transmission fluid. It's now running great. Thanks Jim & Sons Transmission.

They were awesome! Excellent customer service and they let me know everything that was going on with my car the whole time. They fixed a problem that another transmission shop failed at, and serviced the transmission too... all for a fair price. I will be returning for future repairs if needed.
