The frist time last week was great went today and it wasn't so great.paid extra and didn't get my ranch and the bacon was dryed out.
I had possibly one of worse brisket sandwiches I have ever tasted. It was VERY salty and a heavy, heavy smoke taste. I dont know if they wrap at the stall but with the heavy acrid taste i dont think so and the wood used if oak can leave this heavy acrid smoke taste.The meat was sliced too thin and just wasn't worth the price. It seemed to be of low quality. I smoke brisket myself if I have the time and mine is at least ten times better. JD'S is better, Buckys is better and even Arbys is a hair better. We've been to J&N in other states and we're excited to find this one in Hickory. Building, atmosphere, and workers were all good. Prices were high, but food just wasn't up our expectations for those prices. BBQ was fatty.
I live in Lenoir got jds BBQ. Hog wild BBQ. Not even close to comparison with Jim and Nicks. Best damn food I've ever had not just the BBQ. But I'm telling you the best damn food I've ever had!! The mac-n-cheese is to die for!! I'm moving to hickory!!
