The In network USAA contractor in Yeadon, PA called BMS CAT/Mellon Certified Restoration is attempting to balance bill me for $2418.77 after being paid by USAA insurance for $1900.00 for a small ceiling job which I believe is unethical. They did a good job on the ceiling but are overcharging me because this is covered by USAA home owners insurance. I'm giving them one 1/2 of a star for their good ceiling work. This is a company to avoid. They attached a piece of plywood (4x8 and a small piece above that) to my broken window at the behest of my homeowners insurance company. Since the total cost of the replacement of the window came short of the deductible, insurance did not have to pay. Mellon certified sent me a bill for $861.57. No matter how I tried to reason with them for a fair payment, they did not accept my offers. They filed a complaint for the amount plus the court cost and interest. I cannot say enough good things about Mellon Certified Restoration. One month after a 5 month long renovation of 4 bathrooms in my home, sewage backed up into and out of my basement guest bathtub and toilet into the fully carpeted guest bedroom/ closet/ large living area. Mellon was sent out by USAA, my insurance company, that same evening at 9:30 pm to do the initial cleanup, disinfection, removal of affected drywall, baseboards, insulation and wall to wall carpet and pad.
