I normally don’t spend so much on myself at restaurants I’ve never been to but the smell convinced me I was in a good place. I had the Steamed Vareniki and the Shashlik Lamb. What really won me over was the server for our table. Alex is wonderful. He was a great communicator, recommended some delish dishes, and we had a great time because of him. Ask for Alex if you go to the Glenview location!!
Fine dining is absolutely trash. It just gives an excuse to increase prices. They are charging the atmosphere to a less casual experience. We liked the hidden aspect of it and affordable. We wanted a mixed culture experience not just one thing. They removed all Russian dishes from the menu witch absolutely pissed me off because that's the only reason to even come there
So good!!!! We got borscht, shorpo lamb, guro lagman (a handpulled noodle dish with lamb), boorsok (little pillows of fried dough), and plov, and everything was amazing. Very cute and comfortable interior, most tables have a booth side, friendly and quick service from our server Sabina. Reasonable prices for very large portion sizes. The guro lagman was a total standout. We will be back here the next time we’re in Chicago!
