DO NOT USE. Debt relief is a scam, JG Wentworth charged me excessive amounts in fees. I also asked for assistance and was ignored.
Crooks. Feed you a line of promises and never deliver. They take a huge payment from me every month and say it all goes to fees. Meanwhile my score has dropped 300 points. And they refuse to settle anything. So now I’m deeper in the hole and having to work two jobs. 18 hrs a day to make minimum payments to stay out of court on accounts they ignore and their astronomical fees. Run away or they will screw you over as well.
This is for both JG Wentworth and Discover (not capital one Discover). JG Wentworth called me and explained they had a loan for me. I didn't know what I signed up for. I expected it to be like a personal loan and they put money in your account to pay for debts. Everything was good with them up until they had received correspondence from JG Wentworth that they were representing me, but on May 15th I called to get a loan to help lower payments on credit cards and car. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!!! Just deal with your creditors directly. They spoke a good game at first but when it came time to actually paying off my creditor JG wentworth was giving me the run around! They demanded more fees that were NEVER in any signed document. They said it’s a buffer and it’ll be refunded, smh. I’ve had to call them multiple times just to get an accurate payoff quote. The worst agency for debt consolidation. I do not recommend it. They pressure you into signing up for the plan when you are desperate, but then, when the banks take legal action against you, they can't do anything. I wasted money for two years, only to be threatened that if I backed out of the contract, all my debts—including those they had already processed—would revert to their original amounts.
