Recently had some 35mm film developed and scanned here. When the scans first came through, they looked awful, the team agreed and said they'd rescan after having their scanner serviced. The second set of scans were just as bad, and I was promised a refund that I never got. The negatives were also scratched and had a lot of fingerprints on them - many of the artifacts from their scans came through on my own.
