In Q4 of 2024, I received a bill from a visit in November of 2022. This was an in-network doctor who I made a copay for my visit, and then the office turned around and decided to bill me $1,574.34 for that visit (2 years after the fact). And, of course, there was no prior bill for this. The line-item they used to describe the charge was "Balance Forward" which would imply there was a bill before—there is not. All of the providers we have interacted with here have been great.
Jessica made me take and pay for a test that was absolutely not needed. That's money out of my pocket. Then she coded my treatment wrong. My insurance told me they would pay 100% if she coded it correctly. She refused to change it. That's why I pay premiums. When I complained about it I was sent a certified letter saying I can no longer use KU Med in the entire metro area. "Firing" me as a customer is how they handle conflict. I wouldn't go back to her or KU even if I were dying and she was the last doctor on Earth.
Will fire you as a patient for having disabilities she doesn't see. If you need a diagnosis you'll have to ask for a referral she won't make accurate recommendations for your needs.
