I wanted to give this doctor a chance because I was referred by my OBGYN Dr.Bim who’s amazing. Dr. Mercer was overbooked and I waited for a long time in the lobby. I saw other patients come/go that were there to see other physicians. Finally I told the receptionist I was about to leave ( she was very nice by the way ) because I’d been there all day. My experience with Dr. Jessica Mercer was extremely disappointing. I waited almost two months for this appointment because I wanted a dermatologist who understood melanated skin. Instead, I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and stereotyped. I repeatedly told Dr. Mercer and her team that I was concerned about a persistent sore on my scalp that wasn’t healing. Dr. Jessica Mercer is great! She's knowledgeable, patient, and pleasant. My appointments have all been positive experiences. Although I know she's busy, I never feel rushed. She listens to my concerns, gives me feedback, and then comes up with a plan of action. My skin has noticeably improved.
When people says she's all about money, they are right. I took my daughter for issues with her scalp including bald spots. She never tested her scalp just guessed what was causing it and prescribed her very expensive medicine that made her sick. She wants you to come back every 2 weeks for "treatment". With meds and out of pocket cost I spent close to $1000 and got no results. I told my daughter's pediatricians about her scalp. She immediately tested her scalp and found out she had fungus.
