My boyfriend and I went to this location to try Jersey Mike's for the first time. To begin, the staff was incredibly slow and it took about 20 minutes for 2 people to get 2 sandwiches in a location that was not busy. The main complaint I have is I have a special diet and I am very particular about cross contamination. From what I can tell, this location cuts its meats and cheeses on the same machine. Chicago train station. I do not know if the owner was present or not. The man cutting the bread, Trell, was rude as hell. The whole process of asking how can I help you and then when I tell you, screaming what kind of bread and not wanting my condiment selection until later. The system sucks. Trell was very rude and made me feel stupid for not knowing the Jersey Mikes lingo. Never experienced worse customer service in my life. I almost walked out but I was really craving a sub so I tolerated the disrespect. They didn't even give me all the meats that go on a #13 and they didn't ask me what extras I wanted on my sub because they're probably too lazy and only wanted to do the bare minimum. And they have the gall to ask for a tip. Usually I tip when people put effort into their service but not this time!
I get it, working in one of the busiest Jersey Mike's in union station Chicago for 14.00 dollars is criminal. So yeah the employee were a little curt. But they also made everyone in line feel like we were the problem and not the abismual management of this sub shop. Sub was good though.
Love the food but the people working there make it a bad experience. I came by after a long day of work at 8pm. The guy working was very rude to everyone and was telling multiple people to hurry up so he could close. They close at 9pm. He told me to not think so long and was being sarcastic with others.
