Kid with 3 days of a high fever and in a lot of pain. Swollen eyes, soaking through mattress in sweat. Barely able to eat. Very emotional. Large white patch in the back of throat. Dr Coleman said he had a swollen puss filled tonsil: Rapid strep was negative. Regular strep takes 3 days for results. No prescription offered. I called after appointment because I was concerned ibuprofen and kid’s autism had masked severity. He called in some lidocaine and 1 day of prednisone to reduce swelling but said he stood by his diagnosis. ... read more
