DR KAAWALOA IS KILLING VETERANS!!! I am a patient of Dr. Kaawaloa at the VA clinic in Hilo, HI. As a healthcare professional I find Dr. Kaawaloa and his staff dangerous. He does not care about his patients, there is no medical decision making... he is very negligent. From personal experience and conversations with other veterans in the community, he just minimizes patient's symptoms and have them come back in 6 months! The first review sounds like drug seeking behavior. I’ve had my share of pcps but Dr K is my favorite one.
First time ever seeing him and the experience with this Doctor was very bad. He was rude and uncaring. He didn't listen to me when I tried to explain things about my medication or the doses I take at home. He left me in pain for 3 1/2 days and refused to give me anything that would take it away even though there was no reason to refuse it. My pain was so bad that I was in tears for the entire time he was on as my doctor. He spoke very rudely to me and even made a comment that I was a drug addict.
