Dr. Simpson-Manske is a human being serving other humans in a humane way. What a rare gift. The infrastructure at Island Hospital, which manages the Orcas Island clinic, has good people in a cumbersome and often frustrating or even dysfunctional system. Getting through on the phone is usually impossible. Getting lab orders to the right place is tedious, even with the kind support of the Orcas staff (when you can reach them, which means never off-hours and not after Friday at 1pm).
