I went to Dr. Hoyer for Seborrheaic dermatitis which I had for several months. My scalp had many painful scabs which I described to her. She did not once even look at my scalp. Gave me meds based on my description. I ended up going to and Immediate Care and being diagnosed with Impetigo and needing antibiotics as my lymph nodes had swelled up and I had headaches and neck pain.

Dr Hoyer is great! She was caring and quickly understood my problem. While it is obvious they have a busy practice, she took time to ask me about my skin issue and listened to my concerns. I did not feel rushed at all and the staff is very nice.

Been going to Dr. Ellens 8 yrs now. Started seeing her when I moved to Glen Ellyn. After a yr, I moved about 45 min away. There are doctors closer to me, but I had such a good experience with Dr. Ellens, I chose to continue seeing her, despite the distance. I've seen many doctors over the span since I became an adult...30+ yrs. I,ve seen many personalities from cold & clinical, some behaving like they are God, stuffy, hurried, incompetent, etc... I've encountered few empathetic & kind doctors along the way. Dr. Ellens is tru... read more

I asked Dr. Hoyer about hair loss I was experiencing and she visually looked at my hair and said Alopecia and said there was nothing to do about it. I had no idea that she was wrong and 6-7 mos later (and after losing much more hair) I found another dermatologist who biopsied my scalp to find the cause. He discovered scarring alopecia. Turns out that not only did she not bother to investigate or tell me that I should find another dermatologist who would, but I may even need to be tested for Lupus and undergo very aggressive ... read more

I was very surprised to read the previous comment about Dr. Hoyer. I have been to quite a few dermatologists over the years and, once I went to Dr. Hoyer, I finally found a doctor I could stay with. I have been going to her for over 10 years for a variety of things ranging from adult acne to extreme sunburn to removal of nevi. I have no complaints about her or her staff. As far as the wait goes, it does not happen during every visit (it DID happen during every visit with all my other and my husband's doctors). Only once did ... read more

She was the worst doctor. I developed severe rosacra. She put me on meds and said to come back in 6 weeks. My face was getting worst every day. She said stay on creM. I went to her office to show her what my face looked like. Would not see me. Very uncaring about her patients. Does not take time for you, when you are worried and scared. Would not recommender at all. Terrible

Dr. Ellens and her staff cannot do enough for you! Dr. Ellens spends more than enough time with me at each visit - no matter what the visit is for. She answers all of your questions and gives helpful suggestions for improvement. Her bedside manner is top notch!!! I have been going to Dr. Ellens for over a decade now and cannot brag about her and the friendly staff enough!!!

I have 4 daughters, all who have gone to Dr. Halstead. I have nothing but good things to say about him. When my daughter was in the emergency room with intussusception and had to be transferred to Lutheran, Dr. Halstead came to the ER at 5:30pm and stayed with us until the Lutheran team came at 9pm. He gave me his home phone number and asked that I call him with any concerns and to let him know how it went. Luckily, everything turned out for the best, but how many doctors do that? Not many, I assure you.He is one in a millio... read more

He is a good doctor. He is never on time. When he gets mad he opens the door, and tells you what he thinks you should do while talking very loud within the doorway. He did this two times. What happened to privacy? When I have to bring my other children to the visit he get easily angry. His patience is very thin with his young patients. I do not need to have presciptions or samples of free medicine that contains steriods for my children.
