I wish I had never had this service done. I went to Jelz Straight Salon on July 19, 2026 for Japanese hair straightening, and my hair was severely damaged following the treatment. I experienced extensive breakage, and I am still dealing with my hair breaking and falling out. I now face a very long process of trying to grow out the damaged hair. I’ve been going to Jelz for over 10 years, and I honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair! She is absolutely flawless at Japanese thermal straightening, and every time I leave her chair, I’m beyond happy with the results. She also does an amazing job! Her talent, attention to detail, and consistency are unmatched. After all these years, she continues to be the only person I trust with my hair. I can’t recommend her enough!!!
Do not trust this woman with your hair. I don't even know where to begin. I paid Jel $750 plus a $150 tip for a Japanese Straightening treatment on my hair (also known as Thermal Reconditioning). This process is SUPPOSED to permanently straighten hair so that only new growth hair is curly - any hair that has gone through the process should be permanently smooth & straight.
