Dr. Schulman is the one, after five other doctors, who reaches my son. They have a relationship. Dr. Schulman is a rare breed of doctor in today's medical world. He's a complete doctor, not just a medication manager. He runs overtime if your child needs it, but I have never known any doctor so worth the wait.
Dr Schulman has been fantastic with my children. We’ve seen him for years and he has always made us feel as though we are much more than just patients. It’s true that we have waited sometimes a couple of hours or more but I know that is what to expect. We would bring games, puzzles, books or whatever to while away the time. I didn’t find that bothersome because, when my son needed the extra time, he got it. If I have to wait two hours because there is a kid that needs help, I’ll wait.
We had a prescription emergency over a holiday that would have left my child without medication for 4 days. I called the exchange who contacted Dr. Schulman. He took the time to call back the exchange and tell them, "Sorry I'm not going to help on the holiday." If you choose Dr. Schulman be aware that his vacation is more important than his patients and he does not have an on-call person who will tend to these matters.
Good luck ever getting anything from the office. They never return phone calls even if you’re almost out of medicine they just seem to say “oh well.” The staff is rude and very slow. They need to figure out how to schedule people because you generally wait anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours when you show up on time. Don’t waste your time here
Takes days and days to get phone calls returned. Messages left on office voice mail are ignored. Requested a letter be written for accommodations necessary for child's successful return to school but he repeatedly failed to provide to my students detriment.
I had to finally give up and get a new doctor after his office refused to call me back for weeks/months. They have a responsibility to their patients that they simply do not fulfill.
Dr. Schulman really listens and let's his patients talk all they need, you're never rushed. He acts like you're the most important person in the world during your appointments.n He's worked hard trying various different medications trying to fix my son's ADD, which has been difficult to treat, that 2 other doctors gave up on, by not him. He worked hard and figured out what medications work for my son. He isn't even covered by my ins, and I use him because he's the best there is, totally awesome
He's succeeded with my son where numerous other psychiatrists have failed. Amazing.
