Rude Front Desk Called to make an appointment for my dog as we are new to the area and Dr. Allera was recommended to me by one of their current clients. Their front desk person was very rude when I called and told me they were not taking new clients. I asked if she could recommend another vet in town and she stated, "There are 4 other vets in the area". When I asked for the phone number for one of them she said no and hung up. Best Vet EVER! Dr A has been caring for my animals for over 20 yrs, He and the staff are kind, caring and will bend over backwards to help out their customers. I even have a friend who jokes she only married her husband to get into the practice! He has helped our family thru new animals, the loss of old four legged friends, and even helped my Mom find 2 new little fury friends in need of a home after her cat passed away.
Best Vet in WV. We have used Jefferson Animal Hospital for over 33 years and have had the best animal care you could get anywhere Dr. Doug Allara and his staff are the most caring wonderful people. We moved out of the Charles Town area 22 years ago but will travel the hour and a half to get the best care for our animals.
Great Vet! This is a great group and we have been lucky to have them care for all of our animals (we have quite a few). These are wonderful people and Dr. Allera is kind, generous and a skilled vet. He will be sorely missed when he retires.
old town family Vet As a owner with over 30 yrs of contact w/ Dr A and the Jefferson Animal hospital, I can honestly say that I have never been anything but happy with the care my animals have received. He is kind and thoughtful, and honest. Unlike some of the big hospitals this is a 1 doc office, and he knows all of them. His fees are reasonable, his care is excellent. While they don't take new patients, his answering machine does refer callers to emergency vets in Winchester and Leesburg
No new patients I recently moved to Charles Town from Maryland and live within walking distance of Jefferson Animal Hospital. My dog had accidentally ingested rodent poisoning and became very ill. I called Jefferson Animal Hospital and ask them if there was anything they could do to help him. I was told that there was something that could be done but they weren't seeing any new patients.
