I spoke to Jeff several times regarding different properties and I was disappointed with his ignorance and lack of customer service. First, he wanted us to send all of our application materials before he would give us a rate. Several other brokers will quote you a rate over the phone without providing documentation. Second, he told us nobody would give us a loan for an investment property if we used gifts for the down payment. This is untrue. United Bank is one of the portfolio lenders who offer that product. Jeff Gomes was so enjoyable and easy to work with. He also went out of his way to reach out to us about doing a rate lock to since he thought they would go up, which they did.. this ended up saving us a TON of money. Throughout the whole process I knew he was on top of everything and never worried about any issues on the mortgage end of our home buying process. Not only is he amazing at his job but, he's a wonderful person who I'm glad we had the pleasure of working with.
