UPDATE 3/16: My meeting was very positive with Jason (owner). We talked about my concerns, I learned more about the science behind the work JD Jewelers performs on vintage rings, and we set reasonable expectations for the two ring's modifications. Jason also took adequate time with me, politely listened and shared some of the business's history with me. I left feeling very happy with the appointment & conversation. Thanks. 3/12/26- Customer met with condescending “Master Jeweler” comments and feelings of disappointment. I brought two vintage family heirloom rings to J.D. Jewelers to have the bands reinforced. When I picked up the completed repairs, I asked for information regarding the amount of gold used or the number of grams included in the repair for the price I paid. Years ago for Christmas my mother gave me an emerald brooch she found at an antique sale. Emerald being my birthstone I was excited but it really wasn’t my style. It looked sort of like a wreath. I wore it a few times but it just wasn’t me. Had it made into a pendant thinking I would wear it more. Nope. I took it to Dave at JD Jewelers in Midland, he was able to get some of the emeralds out intact and took my vision and made it reality. It is absolutely gorgeous.
Very accommodating! Needed the prongs that held my diamond ring in place adjusted and they did so at no charge and were willing to do it while I waited. I have purchased other jewelry in the past from them and they have high quality jewelry and are very pleasant to work with.
