Great food & huge portions!
I was retuning to my home town on a vacation. Since my favorite Bohemian restaurant closed years ago I asked AI for suggestions. Out of two I selected McCook. As described they had everything I looked for in a complete Bohemian dinner. My husband and I had the liver dumpling soup, breaded pork tenderloin, sauerkraut, bread dumplings, gravy, and kolaches for dessert. Turkey dinner special. Huge chunks of turkey piled on a plate, not sliced, not seasoned at all. Dressing was moist bread, no onion, no sage, no celery. Large scoop of totally unseasoned mashed potatoes, bland gravy. A pile of overcooked random vegetables. All this was piled together on one plate. It was more than anyone could eat. I would prefer smaller portions, seasoned well, and presented in an appetizing way. The pizza did look good. We should have ordered that.
This is a hidden gem, if you've ever driven by and wondered...... yes, it is great. The food is fantastic, with large servings of authentic delicious Italian. We were there for a funeral dinner after not having been for a couple years since moving south and forgetting how wonderful it is. We will be going back again soon.
