I had a very disappointing experience at the JCPenney Portrait Studio. Our appointment was delayed because the clients scheduled before us were still inside the JCPenney store selecting outfits, which caused our session to start late. I was asked whether I had any promotional codes, and I mentioned that I was using a Groupon. At that point, I was escorted outside of the studio and told that they did not want me discussing a discount where other customers could hear. I usually love JCP portraits, but my experience at this location was very disappointing. I arrived for a scheduled appointment only to find the studio closed because the photographer had called in sick. The manager said they would make it right. When I returned for my Christmas photos, there was only one photographer who was kind but clearly overwhelmed. I explained what had happened before, but nothing was done to make up for it. I had a 2:15 PM appointment and carefully planned this shoot because my daughter was visiting and had a limited window before needing to catch her flight. We coordinated outfits and paid for professional makeup in advance to be fully prepared. When we arrived, we were told the studio was over an hour behind schedule because one employee arrived late and another did not show up.
