There once lived a man in Charleston by the name of Philip Simmons who left a legacy of hundreds, maybe thousands of ornate fences and gates in his beloved city. I fell in love with one of those gates, snapped a photo and put it aside. When we were building a home, I shared that photo with Billy Rains (J C Hood). Super nice people, fair prices and very knowledgeable. I've used them before for some steel prices and I will continue to use them in the future. If you want ornamental iron gates or fencing or just some loose steel for your own project I would highly recommend JC Hood

I love my fence that was built a few years ago. I love my wrought iron gate that they built. I hate dealing with customer service issues. I bought a new electric gate opener three weeks ago and it's been acting up almost since day one. $1,200 seems like a lot of money to me, but not enough money to get service. I'm going on two weeks with a gate that won't close and the best I get is "we'll get you on our schedule." Don't make the same mistake that I made!
