I have been a patient of Dr. Banister’s for over 5 years and have always found him to be kind, respectful, compassionate and helpful. He has helped me tremendously since I began seeing him. I always get a quick response from him or his medical assistant when I send a portal message. I’m very thankful to him for the care he has provided.
I would avoid Dr. Bannister if you have the luxury of working with or being referred to a different provider within the St. Luke’s network. If not, I would recommend attempting to get a referral for a different practice (clinician), all together. My experience working with Dr. Bannister was demoralizing, at best, and I generally felt completely rolled over during most appointments. Needless to say, would not recommend, and would advise folks to steer clear, if possible.
The rudest and most uncaring man I have ever met. Do not waste your time because he is not interested you as a person at all. He is even aggressive.
Dr. Jay Banister thinks he is above everyone. When he speaks to you he’s very arrogant/disrespectful. He doesn’t listen and will point blank tell you “I don’t need details just…” He does not care nor does he have any respect. When you ask questions about your meds he gets annoyed. I’ve met with him twice since my wonderful Dr retired. I do not recommend, avoid his “care.”
If you want a Psychiatrist who doesn't listen to you, gets upset with you when you try to advocate for yourself and only pushes medication instead of listening and learning about whats going on. Then I would 100% recommend him. If I could give zero starts trust me I would. I'm honestly only writing this because I feel like people should be fairly warned about him.
