Dr. Madhaven was dismissive, combative, and unprofessional. It was so bad even the nurse apologized. I would not recommend Dr. Madhaven.
In Jan 2020 a few cancer cells were found by colonoscopy in the colorectal area. Follow up MRI, Cat-scan, of both the lower abdomen, liver, and the colorectal area found no-evidence of any spread. Despite the evidence Dr. Madhavan prescibed the removal of the lowest section of the small intestine, pull the intestine down, sew it up and have me using a colostomy (external bag for defecation), which would essentially disable me from a normal life. Nobody wants to brag about a good colonoscopy. A pleasant experience after the normal prep. Competent and thorough exam. Have to schedule a third exam and happy repeat customer
He diagnosed me correctly right away, after 2 others failed. The surgery went well, there was a complication that was predicted ahead. No issues since. His nurse though needs an attitude adjustment.
I would not recommend Dr. Madhavan. There is not enough space to tell the complete story. In persistent pain on left side from the moment I awoke. I complained immediately. Called his office twice after discharge because of the pain. Went in, he examined me, sent me for CT scan. My spleen was bruised & swollen. Results Contusion/Laceration. He called to discuss results and lied to me. I picked up the report so I could see what it said. He denied it.
I picked Dr. Madhavan because I thought he was a kind, caring doctor. I had surgery and then had post surgical complications. He was adamant nothing was wrong and was cold to me . Told me any testing would be a waste of money and that my complications were nothing related to surgery. I got a second opinion from another colon and rectal surgeon. As soon as I stated my symptoms they knew immediately what was wrong and confirmed with testing. He didn't listen and ended up being wrong.
