Dr. Dougherty is one of the best doctors I have ever seen! I have been seeing her for over 7 years and I trust her completely. She is smart, attentive, empathetic, knowledgeable, and has an eye for detail. Twice she has figured something out about my health based on symptoms that I hadn't even noticed (she noticed them in a 10 minute appt). She is responsive, quickly and completely. Dr. Dougherty was her usual highly professional self. She described in detail the procedures by which any problems with my heart will be detected using a heart monitor. She also recommended an X-ray for my hip to find the source of the pain.
Unfortunately, for the first meeting the interaction was uncomfortable. I understand it was the end of the day, but the behavior I as the translator and my mother, the patient, received was unacceptable. It felt rushed, there was limited patience and no space to build rapport. At times, her tone was condescending. I do however appreciate that she apologized towards the end, but it left a disappointment feeling.
