Tomorrow we will celebrate my son's 28th birthday. He's here with us, strong, smart and successful. One March morning in 1997 we brought Alex to Dr. Black barely breathing with a severe case of croup. It was her first day at NPCMC. She stabilized him and she had him airlifted to All Children's hospital in St. Petersburg where he recovered after a few days in the ICU. We all battled croup for several years. Dr. Black is a thoughtful, empathetic, and caring pediatrician. She spends a lot of time with her patients and we never feel rushed. she provides age relevant information to her patients. Our family appreciates her thoughtful approach to including the child in the conversation. Like most medical professionals, this practice group supports vaccines. If you're offended by this, look elsewhere or simply decline. I'm thankful for a pediatrician that my children adore and feel comfortable with.
My daughter loves Dr. Black, and so do I! She really takes the time to talk to both of us. She makes my daughter comfortable and directly talks to her and listens to her concerns and thoughts. She shares parenting anecdotes and thoughts about general well being and mental health too. She’s so great! We just love Dr. Black!
Go to a physician that has a better bedside manner. She is too hyper focused on her own views and won’t take the time to consider another person’s ideas or thoughts. Very aggressive with pushing unnecessary vaccines and takes offense if you don’t agree with her. Takes it upon herself to speak directly to the patient as though she was the parent. Dr. Black was very easy to recommend attention deficit pills to my daughter and that has caused her all type of problems through her life.
Dr.Black is the best she is very good with the kids we never learn un sure she always goes the extra mile n if she’s all booked up she tells her staff to make room for my kids . Very thorough
Dr Black is a truly the best pediatrician I have ever taken my children too. Yes it is hard to get an appointment and yes you may need to wait a bit, but she is well well worth it! She takes time and talks and asks the kids questions. She is not only concerned with their medical but overall health. She is one of a kind in my opinion. We now live 2 hrs away and I still commute to her. If your child has any special needs like one of mine, you will find none sharper. That I guarantee!
I would say, Dr. Black is almost very good physician, but again, if she has office management, especially scheduling such a bad, the question is how much you can trust to your child doctor. You can not get Dr. Black even your child is on the way to ER, or in ER. Her nurse will not return your call even you are calling from ER. The office explanation is, "we are a very busy office". Working in healthcare industry, I can say, the office priority is making money not to take care about patients.
