When I first started seeing Jan in 2011, I was scared. Jan’s kind approached helped me open up and be able to deal with my anorexia in a way that made sense to me. Jan is very passionate and caring with the clients she works with and helped me work with other health care providers such as dietitians, physicians, psychiatrists, etc. This helped me, as a client, have a full health care team that was helping and supporting me throughout my recovery process.
Jan is an amazing therapist and person. She is the most experienced and effective disordered eating specialist in this part of Indiana and perhaps beyond. She is kind, wise and smart. Although she will lead with compassion and deep understanding, you can also trust that she will be kindly honest and direct with what needs to be addressed. I cannot recommend her more highly.
I have been seeing Jan since 2014. Even though I now live over an hour away from Bloomington, I still come back to see her. I struggled with a severe eating disorder from adolescence through early adulthood, totaling nearly 14 years. Throughout this period of time, I engaged in individual therapy, intensive outpatient program, and residential treatment.
