I had an excellent deep tissue massage at Jamul Massage. The therapist was professional, attentive, and did a great job targeting the areas where I had the most tension. She checked in throughout the session to make sure the pressure was comfortable while still being effective. I left feeling noticeably more relaxed, with less pain and much better mobility. Worse customer service ever. At first the lady appears nice and friendly, however, she expects more in tips than the normal 20%. She doesn’t take responsibility for anything that happens in her office. I also don’t think they have licenses because when I asked, she couldn’t provide. BEWARE!
I have gone to get a massage here 5 to 6 times and the women (owner I believe) is good. However, today me (Ericka) and a friend went in for massages and there was a male there that preformed my friend’s massage. When the male got to her legs she asked him to apply less pressure because it hurt, she said he didn’t listen. We finished the massage and my friend was complaining that her legs hurt and were hot (mainly her calves). About 2 hours later my friend started feeling nauseous and the heat in her legs was worse. The massage itself was an excellent 5- star massage. Issues: you are expected to pay for your massage up front which I don't like. I paid $120 in cash for a 2 hr. Massage. Afterwards, I tipped $25, which is 20%. The masseuse was angry about that amount and demanded $30 (25%), an amount which I refused to give. With sour faces, we parted ways and I left the busines. That ugly little scene ruined an otherwise great massage.
