I would like to tell the world about an amazing GI doctor in North Dallas/Plano. I owe my life to Dr. James Steven Burdick during my hospitalization at Texas Health Presbyterian, Feb & March 2026. If more stars were available, I would give him the highest number. I am writing this review to share our very concerning experiences in hopes that it will be taken seriously and lead to meaningful improvements. My experience with this office was marked by significant delays in care and a lack of appropriate follow-up. Communication was inconsistent at best, leaving me feeling uncertain and unsupported during a time when timely and clear medical guidance was critical. I have been a nurse for 40 plus years and when o had RUQ abdominal pain and nausea post cholecystectomy, I knew I needed an EUS and ERCP. I went to Texas Health Rockwall, where I was given IV antibiotics and fluids but they didn’t have a physician to do the tests needed. I asked to be transferred and was transferred to Texas Health Plano where Dr Burdick was on call. Although it was a Saturday, he did the procedure that day! By the next day, I was pain free! This is long overdue. My wife and I would like to thank god for Dr. Burdick. My wife had a perforated esophagus from a surgical procedure and was declining rapidly and nearing death due to all the poisons and side effects of the perforation. Dr. Burdick used a rare specialty, the Endo Sponge procedure to clog or fill the perforation that allowed the body to heal internally and close the perforation over time.
